Role: Design Lead
Project: Federated Active Directory Forest
· Design Lead for developing Federated Active Directory Forest Design.
· Produced Design, Testing and Build documentation.
· Engaged with Microsoft on the customers’ behalf to determine how the solution could be supported with Microsoft as the Trust relationships would be established across Network Address Translation boundaries using Checkpoint firewalls.
· Worked with the customer to develop detailed Firewall requirements necessary to support the trusts, with particular focus on the DNS packet translation features of the firewalls.

· Formal Review of Standard Life design documents for:
§ Data Centre Backbone Migration
§ New Server Farm Design
§ Internet Migration to new DC
· Produced a formal review document, drawing conclusions and recommendations for Standard Life’s network technical lead to consider with their team.
Role: Technical Architect/Network Design Lead
Project: Data Centre Migration.
· Technical Architect responsible for the design and implementation of the technical solution, pulling together technical consultants from different disciplines including Active Directory, Messaging, Database, SAN, Virtualisation and Networks.
· Led workshops with the customer to develop a high level solution.
· Worked with the customer to develop detailed network and security solution.
· Ensure the solutions proposed by each technical lead were viable and resolved conflict when it arose.
· The network design involved specifying the network hardware for 2 data centre to support 160+ servers in a resilient design and integrate firewall security into the core network.
· Work with Business Continuity Services to provide a failover data centre network design.
· The design included the following technologies: spanning tree, Firewall Modules (multi context), 802.1q, OSPF, BGP, FCIP and route redistribution.

Project: Window Migration Project
· Active Directory Review to determine the suitability of the Windows 2000 domain for the migration target.
· Responsible for the Design and Implementation of the Migration Processes from Non-Standard Windows NT domains
· Created customise migration scripts’ using VBScript and Quest Migration tools.
· Developed custom scripts for the Exchange Migration team (re-permission, update email addresses)
· Training/Mentoring the testing team to develop a test environment using a virtualisation.

Project: Infrastructure Refresh.
· Worked with the customer to restructure their network to support the infrastructure refresh program.
· Delivery High Level and Detailed Design documents for LAN - Redesign, IP addressing, Firewall, Proxy, VPN and Wireless.

· Created a Wireless LAN solution using 802.1x authentication with Microsoft IAS (RADIUS) Servers
· Work with other team leads to ensure their design were not in conflict.
· The solution covered the following technical areas: Network Addressing Design, EIGRP, VPN, spanning tree, default route propagation, PIX firewall and integration to MPLS network.

Project: Network Transformation
· The customer had an extensive Layer 2 network between locations and was experiencing many issues with this design.
· I was responsible for Design, Planning and Implementation of a network transformation project.
